I hope someone here can help me. I lost my house in Dec and moved out right before christmas. I have been back to my house over the last month a few times to grab things but havent been in over two weeks. Now the house is technically abandoned. The back door has been broken and apparently two cats got into the house. We had no idea. Apparently someone saw the cats and called the humane society. They got a warrant to break into the house and seize the cats. Now it says that I am cited with a summary charge of animal curelty. I am going to fight this and clear my name but I am trying to find out what to expect when I go to the police station? Am I going to be arrested and placed in jail and have to get bailed out? Any help is greatly appreciated and much needed!
Thanks |

I wish to inform you that you may be arrested if police requires certain information from you. You may inform police of the correct situation that the house has been abandoned and the cats do not belong to you and they should not charge you with animal cruelty. If police frames charges against you then you can have the charges dismissed from court.

In this you can show that the back door was broken, through which the cats enter into the house. Also you can show that you were not occupied in the premises for last few days. In this you will not be punished for any charges.
