Default Personal possessions of a former friend

A former friend who lived with my family for 4 months has moved out.She has
left behind 4 bags of personal items such as clothing, photos and ornaments.
Is there a time frame of how long I must keep these things before removing
them from my home if this person does not claim them? BTW, I live in Ontario
Thank you.

You normally need to try to give 30 days notice in writing that you intend to dispose of the items; and then also inform the local police what you are doing as well. After that you should be okay.
