If you use a fake ID and it is confiscated, but the police are not called...
If you use a fake ID and it is confiscated, but the police are not called on the spot, is it possible for the owner of the store to turn in the ID resulting in later charges? If so, how likely do you think it is that this would happen?

It is possible yes. But normally they would do it there or it does not happen.
