7 months ago we refi our home. During the refi we paid off our creditors,
one being Citi Bank. We did not know it at the time but the Cibi Bank account was sold to another Creditor who was also paid. So this created a double payment. We have a zero Balance letter from the creditor that Citi Bank sold the account to, and the canceled check from Citi Bank. When we try to get our money back from Citi Bank they have given us and the Title Company the run around. I do not know what type of lawyer I would need, but I really would like some help in getting our funds back. The amount is over $4000. |

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office.
