Default Legal recourse against U-turners

Recently, drivers have been using the driveway to my residence to make U-turns. There have been occasions when my husband or I can not turn into the driveway because someone is making a U-turn. What legal recourse do I have against those drivers? Thank you for your reply.

Well, you could do like a guy near me does... put some boards, with nails sticking up, laying acroos the beginning of your driveway. Of course, if someone steps on them...

I never understood why this bothers people. It isn't like if they use your driveway 3 times a week for ten years they can lay claim to it and then wind up owning it. All they're doing is turning around.

Just give them a neighborly wave as they drive by you.

Having learned about this in law class I might be able to give a little insight.

Officially anyone entering your property w/o your consent is considered to be trespassing, weather you have signs posted or not. However, for you to take any legal action would be a waste of time.

Think about it. Do you really want to waste your time getting their tag #, calling the police to file a report, and then have to sit through a court hearing all b/c they U-turned in your driveway??? Sounds like a waste of time to me. Think about your opportunity costs here.

I'd recommend sticking 2 poles in the ground at the end of your driveway and then linking them with a chain. That's about the most you can do, unless you plan on taking every person who U-turns in your driveway to court.
