I have a friend in prison, in Texas, whose mother died in Rhode Island. According to information he received he has been told that his mother left nothing to her children. How can he verify the contents of her will.

I wish to inform you that will of the deceased may be known from court. After a person dies the executor of deceased will go to court to execute will. In this regard your friend may send any person on his behalf or his solicitor to go to court and read the contents of the case file. Court documents are public record and therefore information may be taken.
