Default Moving to MD (community condo, medical power of attorney)

I have purchased a community condo for my wife’s grandmother. She will be shifted to there (MD) within 3 weeks from FL. As far as I know she does not owes any house. She only receives a small pension and social security. Thankfully there are no assets to fight over. She has a living son in NY with whom we have no contact. Other than ensuring she has a new medical power of attorney drawn up after her move, should we be addressing anything else?

We would suggest your wife’s grandmother to execute not only a medical directive but also a financial durable power of attorney. She should also open a new bank account in Maryland to receive her Social Security and Pension. We also suggest you to be a joint owner of the account. So that it will be easier for her to manage her finances.
