According to Sgt. Mike Foxen of the Beverly Hills Sheriffs Department, a witness called about 5:30 a.m., and after reaching at the scene the police found no one involved in the one-vehicle crash of the black Mercedes convertible.

The Mean Girls star had apparently been speeding before losing control of her car and crashing into a bush, said Mitch McCann of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police officers confirmed they found a useable amount of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine at the accident scene.
