Is online sports betting legal in Virgina, USA?

Is online sports betting legal in the US? From what I gather all the gambling online companies i.e. like Sportsbook have moved to Antigua or other countries to operate their websites. Hence the websites are there. I have heard that US based credit cards are blocked when people try to use them. If I can use my credit card to sportsbet is this legal?Will I be arrested for that?

In Virginia under Section 11-14 of Virginia Code any agreement regarding betting on sports is being declared void. Void may not be illegal but void means that contract is unenforceable and has no legal validity.

You will not be arrested for trying to play normally.

But operating a site could get you in trouble.

Generally it is not legal to play using any money.

Betting is legal in some part of USA. If you want then you can do betting but not for money. If you want to do betting for fun, that is not illegal.

Online betting has been clamped down on and shut down by federal authorities since this was originally posted, regardless of the country of origin for the servers.
