Confused Lose of Home

On March 2, our home burned to the ground while we were at work. Inside of course was everything that we owned, but most importantly inside were our babies. No I don't mean children in the biological since, but our babies non the less. A 15yr old Golden Retriver/German Sheppard mix, a 13yr old calacoe cat, and a 3yr old Boarder Collie/Chow mix. We had all of them since they were babies and since we have no children of our own they were ours. I still have a hard time sleeping and cry myself to sleep most nights, this is with out a doubt the hardest thing I have ever been through in my life.

There was a wild fire that distroyed several homes in the area, not just ours.
The cause of the fire is belived to be a controled burn the day before was rekindled by the high winds in the area.

While they are not excepting responsiblity for the fire the agency responsible for the controled burn have offered settelments to those people who suffered loses due to the fire.

My question is this, should we not be intilted to compensation for all that we have been through, as well as for what we lost wheather or not it has monitary value?

Yes you could seek greater damages. They may argue they had to do what they did to help save human life. You would have to show they were negligent.

EEK! Re: Lose of Home

Dose 85,000.00 for a four bdrm two bth mobile home(over1600sqft), a work shop, a shed, a green house and all of the contents of each, along with all the landscaping and over 75 trees that are not coming back seem like a fair amount? I don't know what they expect me to do with that.

What was it estimated to be worth at the time?
