Ex girlfriend in Chatham, ON

Back in december me and my now ex girlfriend from chatham, on split upon finding out when i tried coming back from seeing my family for christmas. I was already vacationing there at the time. I was expecting to come back in a week so I didnt take all my stuff with me, like i said i was expecting to come back so i could collect my things and spend a lil more time there with her and my friends before i had to come home and get back to work.

Now the issue is that initially i told her i would compensate her for whatever it costs to send me my things no matter if it was in bulk or little bit at a time to make it lest costly to her. she has refused many times saying "i'm not using my money to send your s*** to you" that was a red flag in my eyes. there have been many phone calls and many upon many arguements about my stuff and now she will not return my phone calls, she is refusing to give me my property back, and now has others involved with this stuff like her father now stating that i must send her 500 dollars for the cost of our old cell phone bill which i only owe half and we got majorly lied to by virginmobile.ca where things wouldn't cost us and are free type deal. I do not deny what i owe and it is a seperate issue from getting my stuff back.

I do possess a book of hers, our old apartment keys, and the cell phone she got as a gift for me when we signed up for the service. she used her name for the main bill and i had to use my personal info and my email address since i was the 2nd phone on the service. i told her in every way i do not have an issue paying my half of the bill i owe that i know it. i also do not have an issue returning her things which are far far overshadowed in value compared to everything of mine. I at this time cannot go to Chatham to get my things from her as finding work these days is as hard as can be but i am working on it.

she keeps not returning my calls and i cant get up there at this time and i am at my wits end as to what to do can any lawyer please help me any information will be useful as she has cost me 2 jobs that require a laptop and me physicly being at places that require me to have my laptop with me. i even left her a voice mail stating to her i need her to send me my laptop and i will compensate for the money because at the time i had a potential job working for a wrestling newsletter which required me to go to wrestling shows and type up reviews and such other topic due to the wrestling business and it's current state. I have since lost that opportunity. (i'm doing this on my psp at a coffee shop) i need to know what can be done.

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against her (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered
