I wish to inform you that generally a minor is not allowed to own a car without having a parent or guardian co-signing the ownership of car. Generally a contract with the minor may be repudiated by the minor therefore the minor may not be able to own a car without having any adult signing along with minor. The minor is given the power that he can repudiate the contract therefore generally the seller prefers to have any guardian or parent of the minor while making contracts.

Yes they can in some places. My son owned 2 cars before he was 18, he bought them himself and got them titled. He bought one before he even got his driver's license.
