On May 29 2009 at about 3:15 in the evening I was driving home from Work (King County Metro) North Bound I 405 Exit 22 (NE 160 TH). I was pulled over by Snohomish County Sheriffs Jay Ravenscraft badge number 1389. When I asked why he pulled me over in King County. He responded saying well you are going to Snohomish County So I am going to write you for expired tabs. He issued me a citation (9Y10939378) and wrote it into South Snohomish County Court.
I do not have the exact court Date I appeared in South Snohomish County Court in and got the ticket dismissed. (IRLJ 2.3 requires that the ticket must be dismissed with out prejudice if venue is wrong). I was on my way home north bound on Oct 2 2009 I 405 at mile marker 22 (NE 160TH) at 3:36 PM. I saw the Same Snohomish County Sheriffs Jay Ravenscraft badge number 1389 driving black patrol Car license plate number 85409C. He had pulled over a white pick up and apparently wrote another ticket in King County. At about 3:48 PM on Oct 2 2009 I left a message for officer Ravencraft to call me and give me his Supervisors name after the switch board gave me his number. At 4:09 PM Oct 2 I received a call from officer Ravenscraft. The Officer wanted to know why I was requesting the information. I explained the Officer that I needed to talk to his supervisor. He asked if it was in reference to his behavior. I responded and said yes and explained that I felt that he should not be writing tickets in King County into South Snohomish County Court. He explained to me that he had the right under state law because he lives in King County and he is on his way to work gives him that authority. He also admitted to me that the License number I wrote down is the plate number for his car. |

You indeed may be able to challenge that. They can sometimes follow you in to another county but shd not be writing tickets in the other counties.
