North Carolina: Plastic bottles will no longer be accepted in landfill

A new law goes into effect Thursday that will impact everyone in North Carolina.

It will be illegal to throw out any plastic bottle that has a neck smaller than the body of the container — essentially, any plastic drink bottle.

It also will be illegal to throw out any used oil filters or wooden pallets.
