Confused car problems ? - Ontario, Canada

My boyfriend has a van but it's not in his name the van was giving to him 3 years this July. The person who's name it's under gave my boyfriend the buyer owner ship card *the blue card thing* and he's also know that he's had the van for almost 3 years. Can the person who the van's name under take the van back, is it my boyfriends because he's used it for so long or what ?

Legally he can yes but you could then take him to small claims or other court and argue what has happened, and most likely he would get it back or would be paid some monetary damages.

-If two or more claimed owners or partners cannot agree on what to do with a piece of property such as a car, they may petition the court and the court will order a sale or refinancing etc. so that the one or more may get out of the property and/or the other(s) may keep it etc.--it is often done-- (This is true in some cases even for equitable owners that have paid various amounts etc., but for various reasons, may not be listed as owner. You have to argue it was intended that you are an owner as well under your original oral or written agreement)
