Contract law - No contract signed to pay for a car

I have a friend that her ex husband agreed to pay for a car for there daughter. He typed up an agreement, but never actually signed it. But he had been paying the notes. He stopped paying them and the car got repoed. No contract signed, so can he still be made pay for the car?

Sorry for what has happened here. The best place to address this would probably be small claims court. The maximum amount for which you can sue varies by state. Generally, a signature would be required. However, under a legal doctrine known as part performance or partial performance, you might still be able to enforce the contract. Hope all works out. AJJ

Thanks alot for the information. Found out the car was repoed and sold already by finance company. So they say that if the balance is paid off then they will clear account and send letter to credit bureau that it has been paid.
