Car Title

A dear friend just passed away after a lengthy illness. He told us before passing that he wanted us to have his car, but he had taken a title loan out on it. We just spoke with the loan place, and they are fine with us paying off the loan (of course), but what happens, then? He had a will 15 or 20 years ago that named his sister as his executor, but no one (including his sister) knows where it is and because it\'s outdated, it doesn\'t apply to his current possessions. His sister says that she\'s fine with us having the car and she\'ll help in any way possible. If we were to obtain the title after paying it off, what would we need to do to have it in our name? Would his sister need to be involved as next of kin? (He was not married, and had no children.) Thank you for any help that you can provide.
