Cool An unfair request (to continue and finished the school program)

Republic of Trinidad & Tobago

Currently I am pursuing a professional property management program with Ashworth University in Norcross Georgia. I have paid the full tuition fee of $489.00 USD and I have passed all the exams in the first segment of the program. I was also advised after the fact, that I must pay the sum of $250.00 USD which is an additional cost, if wanted to receive the final text book to continue and finished program. although the price of the second text book was already built into the initial cost of the program offered At no time during the progression of the course, it was mention that an increase in tuition fees would be required.

What are my chances of being able to complete this program without remitting the $250.00 USD or of obtaining a legal remedy to resolve this issue.

It would seem you may prevail based on what you say here. You could if need be file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office.
