A female friend from Hong Kong has been in Australia for nearly 1 year and been living in a domestic and sexual relationship with an Australian man. The relationship is harmonious and she wants to remain as his defacto wife. Her
current visa only permits her to stay here until April 2009. What can she
do to either gain permanency or extend for a further 2 years? Her partner
has had a prior bad experience and currently doesn't want to sponser
her. However he seems to be very happy with their relationship.

Well he needs to decide and if he wants her there then sponsor her--or she can arrange her own emplyment or other visa if she wants to spend the time and effort.
