Lost backpack with drugs

I screwed up
I got out of my car to get my sweater out of my trunk and i had left my backpack at the side of the road.
NOW, there was a little bit of marijuana with it...
what do i do if i have to deal with cops?

You should hire counsel to assist. Do not meet with them alone. There are many defenses possible in that scenario and it likely could be negotiated down quite easily..

But there is some chance they will never come calling. Lots of things could have happened to it.

SAY NOPE TO DOPE, AND UGH TO DRUGS! Sorry, I had to say it. Don't worry, some other kids probably found it and sparked it up already. If just a small amount, the cops don't care. If they do come a callin', just say the bag was out of your possession and who knows who could have put that weed in there. Not mine. Don't smoke too much, it gives you zits.
