Default Denial to Cancel Tanning Contract

I forwarded a doctor's note to the corporate office of a tanning salon stating that for medical reasons I can no longer tan. The corporate office sent me a letter acknowledging receipt of the medical notification from my doctor AND stated that they cannot cancel my tanning contract. Can they refuse to cancel a tanning contract once they have been sent a doctor's notice stating that it would be detrimental to a patients health to contine. If they can, what are my rights & how do I pursue it from here?
