I'm a 2nd year student working on my undergraduate, I want to go to law school, is it over for me...should I change my major after I'm prosecuted?
Last night I got busted...I urinated on a building and the "campus police" somehow saw me. They asked me to stop. I did not stop. I got a Deposit of Human Waste (18.06, (47)), a 2nd offense Underage Alcohol Consumption (125.07, 4,b) and arrested for obstructing an officer, statute number 946.41. I never even took a breathalizer, I refused to do so without probable cause and argued that the reason I fled was because I knew the officer had seen me urinating publicly. Lawyers out there please be honest with me: Should I think about changing my major? (are the chances of getting into law school slim even if I have a higher than average GPA and LSAT score for the respective school?) I can't exactly afford counsel and being a full time student without a car currently (I will have a car second semester which begins in January) makes it even worse. I can't really hope for a defense on the misdemeanor (obstruction). What should I do in terms of the misdemeanor charge, is there any way to avoid prosecution through a "bond" or deal? Isn't their a way to pay extra to avoid this being on my record? Or should I just pay everything off and say good bye to my future career and dreams? |

[arrested for obstructing an officer, ]
That could keep you out of the State Bar--hire counsel and have them try to negotiate a deal to keep this all off your record. |

Most likely it will get you a meeting when you do your intent to study law in your first year. if you are honest on your application and talk to them about the incident you should be fine. make sure you really want to go to law school. it really does suck. everyone told me but i never believed them. Now, I hate it.
