Default help me save my son

my son is a drug addict, he's a crack head, unemployed, and still managing to be a major addict, he's about to receive a very large settlement for $100,000, and i'm deathly afraid he's going to overdose, what can i do legally to insure he's not given that money until he gets help, is there some sort of legal coarse of action i can take?

If he's 18 or older, the only thing you can really do is turn him in. But, unfortunately that's probably not going to result in the help you want him to receive. Hard to say anymore without further information.

I'm not sure there's really anything you can do except try to have a heart to heart conversation with him. I'm not sure that would help, but sometimes a genuine statement such as "I'm worried you'll die from your stupidity" works wonders and forces the person to think twice about his actions. Not always, but I really don't think there's any legal direction you can take unless you want to directly involve the police. Maybe that's necessary after all if it saves his life.

Tough call, that's for sure.

I'm not a lawyer, but if the money is his money you have no say on the matter. It belongs to him.
