I signed a contract to become a member to a campground. I was told within 4 to 6 weeks I would be signed up by the campground to become members of a nationwide organization. Me and my family were treated disrespectfully and verbally harassed by the owner of the campground during one of our 3 visits. So, after 3 incidences in 2 months of problems and after 8 weeks of them not signing us up to the nationwide program, we sent a certified return receipt letter stating they broke 3 parts of their contract and we wanted to be released from the contract. We received no response from them what so ever, so after the 12 days had expired we told them they had to respond to us we cancelled our debit card so they couldn’t charge us for the membership. The only response we have ever received came 2 months after the letter which was 2 past due invoices. I also found a man on-line who had the same problem with the same campground as me except he was in collections and couldn’t get it removed from his credit report. What is the legality in this matter?
