Question travelling with legal rights

I want to travel to Mexico to visit my family (mother 76) for a few days (10 at the most) and take care of some business/inheritance and give some space to my partner as we are having problems... so I want something on writing so he can\'t take away my rights if I leave. I have a 15 years old son (his stepson) and I have live with him for 1 year. Thanks for your prompt answer. Ana
