Phone call after arrest (is this a right?)
I have a question regarding the rights of an individual after their arrest. Is the aressted individual entitled to a phone call? If the individual happens to be a minor is he or she entitled to a phone call? Can this right be suspended? If so, under what circumstances? Can this right be delayed at all? If so, in what circumstances? What would the ratifications be for an officer or officers who did not allow a minor to call the appropriate legal gaurdians in a reasonable amount of time? What if the minor's legal gaurdian or gaurdians were never contacted, but were informed of their arrest through a friend's parent who had been contacted? What if the officers involved called for the minor, but did so after doing nothing for a long period of time?
