Any info on Michigan's new child seat law?

Police began enforcing the new statewide booster-seat law Tuesday (July 1st, 2008).

It requires children younger than 8 and shorter than 4-foot-9 to use an approved booster seat once they have outgrown a child safety seat.

Since the law went into effect Tuesday, drivers face a $65 to $165 ticket if they fail to comply.

I'm curious if that law is only applicable in Michigan or if there are any equivalents in other states as well?
