EEK! content of marketing tool - any legal restriction?

We want to promote our product with publication of comparison with our competitors’ products. Is it legal to publish comparison data from third party lab testing result?

It is in most jurisdictions yes but you need to be sure it is factually accurate and it may help to have a third party be the tester--to avoid any claim for defamation etc.

Confused Re: content of marketing tool - any legal restriction?

The test was done by an independent lab and the test was extensive. Can we publish only partial test result first then other parts later in our promotional material? Also, where do we stand if the competitor later question the samples (theirs and ours) we brought in for test?

p.s. what area of law does my question fall under? Please kindly advise...

Advertising and fair trade laws among others apply.

The testing company likely knows how others have used their data. You may want to discuss with them too.

You can cite test results, and the competitor can cite other results if they wish.
