child rape laws

I was raped at 15 by my boyfriend.
my parents forced me to marry him because I was 15 and pregnant.
He was 18 then.
My question is how long can someone wait to file charges for rape ?
My children are grown now and I am 55, and I feel it time for him to pay his dues.
Just the fact that I was only 15, must help some even if he denies it, there is a daughter that is his to prove the case.
can someone help me out here ?

unfortunately, the statue of limitations has most likely run out, and he cant be prosecuted. im sorry.

The above answer is correct the time clock started when you turned 18 and ran out long ago.

The fact that you remained married to him even after you turned of age would work against you even if you could bring charges against him. You would be laughed out of court.

I'm assuming you had other children with him, as you stated your children are now grown? If you had even more children with him, that would make your case even weaker.

You cannot bring charges against him considering the circumstances of your case. It's sad you still have this anger and bitterness in your heart after 40 years. You might benefit from some counseling to help heal these old wounds. You need a therapist, not a lawyer.

An important question: are you still married to this man?
