Hi,
I'm a taxi driver in the UK. There is a large entertainment event being staged in my home town. Due to the numbers of people expected to attend the local authority have closed roads around the event to vehicular traffic. They have provided a pick up/drop off point and parking for disabled people at the boundary of the road closures, however, taxis carrying specifically wheelchair bound passengers will be allowed through the barriers allowing them to drop off at the entrance to the event. My question is, as the instruction specifically states wheelchair users is that not discrimination against other disabled groups, such as people using crutches or the blind? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

It would be hard to fault them for that.
You may have some legal argument in a theoretical sense but what they are doing is try to help those that they can--within reason. I would think if a blind person needed assistance they would allow that as well. Check in advance. |
