Hello. I had specifically asked a friend to bid on 2 items at an auction that we normally both attend. There was no mistake about the 2 items. Verball he agreed to bid on my behalf. The evening of the auction via phone he told me he had purchased the 2 items for r and would get with me the next day. He did but he broke the agreement. He said he liked the item he bought on my behalf and was keeping it. The 2 items #1 $5.00 - Nautical books value ? $50 or more. George and Martha framed painting - he paid $10.00 but told me he paid $20.00. Value? - $100 - $500. Do I have any recourse in this matter?

He broke the agreement he made with you.
Based on what you say here, you could file suit against him (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to his behavior... |
