Someone not related to me has been arrested that molested me when I was 5 (I am now in my 40's) and I have been told that nude images and video of me as a small child were in his possession and the police took them in as evidence. If he is prosecuted what happens to those pictures? Will they be destroyed after a trial? Do I have a right to them? What if I dont want them to be seen by anyone else during a trial? Do I have any rights at all? Not sure if this is relevant but he is almost 90 years old. Do you think they will prosecute him at all because of his age? Apparently there are hundreds of images of children spanning 40 years and video as well that was taken from his home. This is in Alabama and I live up North and will I need to hire an attorney in Alabama if they involve me or to get those images back (because of travel expenses) and if in a federal case they want you to be a witness or something do they pay the expenses for travel or will I have to? Thank you for any help you can give I am very upset and I still don't know too much yet but I am trying to educate myself so I can be prepared for what might happen.

Can anyone help me? It has been a couple of days and I would appreciate any feedback if anyone knows how any of these things work. (See first post) Thanks again!

You can ask for that information to be sealed and to be for the court's eyes only.
The court would likely do that anyway. It may help to have counsel just to make sure you are comfortable with the process. But do not be too worried... |

World Law's lawyers could also probably intervene and help resolve this if need be. You may email them on the home page.

They will pay for any travel that they may request of you...

Thank you so much those who posted answers. One more thing, does the federal government take into consideration how old someone is when they prosecute? Would they bother with someone who is nearly 90 (he may be even older I am not certain) and in very poor health?
Any advice as to how to protect myself in this? What if I don't want a jury to see these pics or videos? Do I have no rights in this at all? Thanks and God bless for helping me out! |
