AFFA,

Thank you responding to my posting in the forum about my rental deposit. I was wondering how I go about doing a demand letter? I called them directly and received nothing more than rude responses and was told my account is being sent to collections if I do not pay.
The deposit breaks down as such:
Standard Deposit: $250
Pet Deposit refundable: $150
Non-Refundable Pet Deposit: $150
Totaling $550

Damages: $610.80

They then took the $150 non-refundable pet deposit out of my deposit leaving a balance of $210.80.

If all of my deposits are to go toward damages I should only owe $60.80.

Is this something I should have a lawyer write a letter about, or something I should do personally?
