I will try to make this as short as possible with just an outline of what happened.
I was admitted to a hospital for DHE IV Migraine treatment to break a migraine cycle. I told the admitting doctor one of my worse fears is new medications. I told her I refused to take Dapakote because I had heard too many things about it. I also told her I had been hospitized for 5 days a year before for taking Nuerontin..( this should have been in my medical records also) I just wanted to remind her. The admitting doctor put me on DHE IV, Phenergan, Serzone, Verapamil SR, Depakote ER, Neurontin, Norflex IV, Magnesium Sulfate IV, Benadryl IV, Toradol IV, Ativan IV ( taken only once), Depacon IV. Within one hour of being in my room the first shot put me in la la land. I remember telling the nurse that night that that was too many pills. She said the dr had ordered them. ( I had been given shots and was still out of it) so, I took the pills. Another dr was on call and I guess took me off some of the meds because I could finially talk on the third day. I was still in the same clothes that I had checked in. ( 3 days without a bath, etc.). I had whelps, redness, swelling, the back of my knuckles were black. Everytime I woke up because the IV that was put in the fourth place caused SO MUCH PAIN I would tell the nurses I was really sick, but then I would fall back to sleep. Anyway, on the third day I told the dr ( who was a jerk) I was terrified they were going to accidently overdose me and I had to check out against medical advise. I already struggled with depression and anxiety. I keep getting worse since I have been home because it just eats me alive inside what all they put me through. I am now going through insomnia again. I haven't had to deal with that for over a year. Anyway, I would appreciate any input on this and sorry so long of a post. |

It is certainly possible you have a case based on what you say here; you should take a brief description of these events as well as your medical records to a malpractice attorney and see if the attorney thinks you have a claim; often you need to contact several attorneys to find one to take the case; the review of your case and records is often free and then they will normally take the case on a contingency fee basis if they think you can win; you would pay only if they collect for you.
World Law's lawyers could also probably intervene and help resolve this if need be. You may email them on the home page. |

You should definitely contact a medical malpractice lawyer if you feel that you have been a victim of deliberate negligence.
It is strange that you clarified your medical status to this doctor whereas he insisted on the doses. Just get in touch with an experienced medical malpractice attorney or personal injury lawyer. I am sure you have a case there.
