Was my doctor negligent? -- I was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
I live in Alabama:
I was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer. The Urologist informed me that he compared the tumor's growth to my records from an MRI I had in 2006. Those results showed I had the tumor then but I was never informed it was there. I have a history of cancer in my family and I am a breast cancer survivor. I would think something like that would have been brought to my attention. During this time my blood pressure meds have been doubled. High blood pressure is a syptom. Would this be considered negligence since I was not informed? |

I wish to inform you that by not informing you your doctor has been negligent. In this regard the act of the doctor to not to inform you of cancer will make him liable because he was an expert and you had gone to doctor to know about your illness. Further as you were not having information of cancer your actions to control cancer were also restricted. You may have taken additional steps for cure of cancer had doctor informed you. You may file a complaint with Medical Association or give a notice for compensation and if doctor refuses compensation then you may file a lawsuit.

I agree with the above post! Doctor has been negligent in your case even you have survived a certain same kind of illness, he didn't tell you about this. This is malpractice and you must take certain action against them.

In order to face the colon cancer the early detection it is the best strategy to maintain our health. Although the people are very few who practice it, or by negligence or ignorance. The colon cancer is the second cause of death by cancer in men, soon of the cancer of prostate, for that reason recommendable to be made one colonoscopía to detect this disease.
