My father had a massive stoke in 1995, he has had health problems every since. His insurance company only will pay if he goes to Henry Ford's Hospital! he has been getting test, X-rays etc. at the this hospital, but this year [2007] he has been getting worse, he's been admitted to the hospital many times, but this time he's been there more than a week, at St. John Hospital. they had to drain the fluid and blood from one of his lungs, because it had collapsed. they did lots of test on him, and even surgery today[june 4] and found out that one of his lungs stop working two years ago!! now what has Henry Ford's been doing all the times his been going there!!!!! can this be Negligent or a future Wrongful Death? I'm really scared...

It is certainly possible you have a case based on what you say here; you should take a brief description of these events as well as your medical records to a malpractice and/or injury attorney and see if the attorney thinks you have a claim; often you need to contact several attorneys to find one to take the case; the review of your case and records is often free and then they will normally take the case on a contingency fee basis if they think you can win; you would pay only if they collect for you.

I would try and get more information on what they mean by "his lungs stopped working two years ago" Is he ventilator dependent? If not, then his lungs were obviously "working". Is he a smoker? You should be able to get copies of his records from the past 2 years to review any chest x-rays, CT scans, MRI's, etc. he has had done so you can review the results.

Have legal counsel review the medical records.
