Some states have limits but many do not and it is up to you to agree. But above 50 is quite high so check around with other lawyers!
And ask the state bar if limits exist though the lawyer of course knows the rules as well. |

Attorney fees are limited by a "reasonable fee" standard. A client always has the right to have the court review a contingency fee agreement to determine whether the fee is reasonable.
