Advice needed regarding our toddler...

Our toddler had surgery to correct a birth defect. To our dismay, surgery made our child's situation worse due to the surgeon's lack of care post-operatively (proper wound care, scar care, and occupational therapy)...

We had to wait almost a year for our child's scar to mature and have another surgery (by another surgeon, at another medical facility) to correct/revise and get functionality of the area in which surgery was originally performed.

Our child has special needs and sees many specialists, all in one medical facility. We didn't sue because that would mean that our child would no longer be able to see all the other great specialists. In addition, we have another child with special needs and as you can imagine, it would be quite overwhelming to research 11+ specialists for each child.

We have heard this is not the first occurrence for this surgeon... We would hate for other parents to go through what we went through with our toddler. This is something our child would always have to live with.

However, now that we are relocating out of state, we were wondering if we can do something or should we just move on to our next chapter in life... Is it too late to sue? Surgery was performed approximately 15 months ago.
