I am wondering if my sister would have a law suit because of her husband's death. Here is the background. Tuesday he went to the hospital because of chest pains. They kept him over night saying they were going to do a chemical stress test the next day. They gave him heparin, a nitroglycerin patch and treated him as if he was having a heart attack even though they said they could find nothing wrong with his heart. They also did an ultrasound of his heart. They released him the next day without the stress test because the technician took the day off. He went in Thursday for the stress test and was told everything was fine. Friday night he was having some chest pain, but because of their report saying everything was fine he figured it must just be heart burn. He took some Mylanta and waited a while, then finally my sister called for an ambulance even though he did not want her to. Before they got there he had a massive heart attack and died. He was 43. He leaves behind my sister and 4 kids. It just seems like the hospital should have been able to find a heart problem big enough to cause a massive heart attack. The paper he was released from the hospital with said CHF? and diabetes. Shouldn't they have been able to tell that his heart was bad? It seems they were negligent in letting him leave without finding out exactly what was causing the pain. |

Yes it is certainly possible you have a case based on what you say here; you should take a brief description of these events as well as your medical records to a malpractice attorney and see if the attorney thinks you have a claim; often you need to contact several attorneys to find one to take the case; the review of your case and records is often free and then they will normally take the case on a contingency fee basis if they think you can win; you would pay only if they collect for you.
Or email world law's lawyers to have them review it all in detail with you and advise you if they will do so. |
