Tooth knocked out during surger

Alabama....my mother had gallbladder surgery this morning and when she woke up, one of her front teeth had been knocked out. My brother said the nurse told him that she told mom her tooth was knocked out WHEN SHE WOKE UP! Hello?! She was still drugged up. She doesn't remember and now she is at home. What are the policies for this type of thing? Does the hospital or anesthesiologist have to replace her tooth or what? Is that part of the 'fine print' that you don't read when you sign papers for surgery excusing them for all of the 'mishaps' that might take place. Any suggestions?

They should cover that or provide a detailed sworn report as to why not.
