Default Misdiagonis for two years

Two of my children were either misgiagnosed or had failure to diagnose by military treatment facilities. My younger son had been complaining of left upper quadrant pain for three years. I have taken him to the pediatrican three to four times over the past three years. The first doctor said he thought it was trapped gas and told us to give him gas-x He did not get better he got worse. The second doctor said he probably was lactose intolerant. Told me to cut lactose out of his diet and we did that. He did not get better he continued to get worse. At this point he was in so much pain and vomiting to almost dehydration. He missed alot of school and failed at least three classes. Finally I took him back and said he was getting worse and they said he was constipated and gave him miralax. Every single time we went we told them the pain was localized to his left flank area. I tried the miralax an he was still sick after three years they finally sent me to a Pediatric Gastroenterolgist and he performed a Cat Scan and found that my sons left kidney was obstructed and had been for a long time. He was hopiitilized for three days for extreme pain and vomiting and had surgery three weeks later. The doctors who misdiagnosed him could of done a simple ultrasound three years ago and could of found the problem but they were just guessing and did not do the tests they should of. Now he is going to have to see a urologist for follow up on that kidney for along time and is at risk for infection and stones in that kidney. He could of lost his kidney. I have another son who they failed to diagnose with mononucleosis for almost a year thats a whole different story. Same military base same pediatrics unit. I need to file an administrative claim to the government before I can take them to court. I have to put an amount on what I want but do not know how much to put. If they deny then I can get a attorney but dont want to ask for to much or to little. Please help
Vicki
