Unhappy Wrong tooth removed

Ok quick question..

My wife made me a appointment at a local dentist that takes my insurance, (just for the record I hate dentists) so my C/C was tooth pain top right. Not sure of the number. But anyways I told the Assistant that my to tooth was hurting and also i think I have my wisdom teeth coming in and they might be infected. So she took some xrays and then the dentist looked at the teeth and said it looks like the teeth needs a root canal.
OK how much and they gave em the numbers and with the crown came to $$$ they worked with me. So they took me into a larger exam room and numbed my mouth and Did the root canel. Not really that bad my mouth was all numb. Then at the end he was putting the crown on the size it and the power went out... Well the power stayed off for a while and the doctor said come back monsay and we will get that Crown on it should only take a minute or 2. Well I go home and my mouth is still numb and I go home and then I notice that when I look in the mirror that the WRONG TOOTH had the root canal done. What should I do ..... I am still in pain.... The Dentist said he has never had this happen in 10 years and this is his integrity. He wanted me to call on monday and he would try to fit me in..

Thanks in advance

Angry Re: Wrong tooth removed

My girlfriend actually just had this happen to her yesterday. She had a previous root canal and was coming back to get it re-done. The "specialist" drilled into the wrong tooth and blamed it on his nursing assistant, but said he pay for a crown to be placed on the tooth he mistakenly drilled; however, he never said anything about paying for the root canal. He told her to take Tylenol to help ease the pain of having a hole in her tooth, but she is still working on her feet up to 10 hours a day as a waitress. She is in horrible pain from this and forced to deal with it until at least Monday. Today at work her root canal filling fell out and now it is hurting her even more. I am not too happy with the dentist or his lack of concern with her pain. What is the best thing to do from here? Is there anything, such as pain and suffering, besides the root canal and crown that we would be able to sue for.

Thanks.

Default Re: Wrong tooth removed

Normally no.

But you may want to have a specialist endodontist take a look and if need be finish the work. You could make the dentist pay for that.
