My husband suffered a stroke while at work and went to see his physician in
the office. He gave him the symptoms, massive headache, etc. The doctor attributed it to blood pressure and did NOT send him for an MRI of the brain. However, he wrote in his chart \"possible subarachnoid hemorrhage\" and let him leave the office. He suffered another stroke the following evening. He died June,2006. Wouldn\'t that be a form of medical malpractice ? If the doctor had sent him down for the MRI after the initial visit they would have seen that he had suffered a stroke therefore he could have been admitted to the hospital and put on blood thinners thereby possibly alleviating the next stroke the following day which caused the majority of the damage. |

A subarachnoid hemorrage means bleeding has occured. Bleeding people don't get blood thinners. Bleeding plus blood thinners equals massive bleeding. There are two types of strokes; hemorraging and ischemic. An ishemic stroke complicated with a blood clot gets treated with blood thinners. Your MD did the right thing.
