Misdiagnosis
In 2005 I started seeing a new pdoc. She diagnosed me as being bipolar. I disagreed as I have ADHD and some of the symptoms are the same. I have never had any type of mania. I tried to tell her I had ADHD, which she agreed but said I was also bipolar. I have seen 2 different therapists and they say I am not bipolar. Both, I have seen for some time (one retired so I started with a new one). My friends that know about bipolar, some have it in their families, say I do not have it. I finally went to a new pdoc in Oct. 07. I told her I wanted a second opinion and preferred not to tell what I had been dx with. After my visit she gave me her dx, adhd, anxiety and depression. I told her about the bp dx and she said she did not see any bp in me. I answered the questions honestly. I have never been hospitilized, self-injured, been in an ER for anything along this line. Here is my situation. I am trying to get individual health insurance. I have an agent and we are trying thru one co. right now. They have asked me to sign to get medical records from my primary dr. Now I have recieved a letter from them saying they were going to need to get the records from my pdoc. Since I have seen her only since 10/07, I am afraid they will want my medical records from my previous pdoc. I believe there are things in my medical records with her that are false. I also do not intend to submit any claims for my visits with my pdoc or therapist to insurance. I am afraid of being denied because of the false bp dx. Any suggestions on what I can do?
Thanks!
