I wish to inform you that in Texas Sec. 31.001 deals with the requirements of removal of disabilities of minor. If you are 17 years of age, a resident of the State of Texas, self supporting and managing your own financial affairs then you may file a suit in your name for removal of disabilities of minor. You may file the petition in your local County Court. A Guardian Ad Litem will be appointed by the Court. If it is in your own best interests then disabilities of minor may be removed in your case. Except for specific constitutional and statutory age requirements, all disabilities will stand removed.
