Default Suing doctor in European Union

Each of us has a responsibility to sue our doctors for negative treatment outcomes so that they learn responsibility and to look beyhond their limited treatment programs.

So if your doctor has injured you in any way, you might consider suing them. Fortunately this is happening more and more in the United States — the land of litigation — but it is about time it happened in the rest of the world. When enough doctors are sued for not helping the patient as much as they could, they are likely to stop recommending solutions that have primarily been produced to fill the coffers of the pharmaceutical industry.

If you live in the US and decide to sue your doctor, you might consider reading the book So You Really Want to Sue Your Doctor? by Roy Rapp. In the EU or Down Under you will need to talk to a lawyer.

Confused Re: Suing doctor in European Union

Hello. My citizenship is German and Cypriot.

I had a face lift surgery done by a doctor who is not a plastic surgeon but a ENT doctor who assured me who had done extra training. All 2 operations went wrong and plastic surgeons have said mistakes were made. I complained to the Health department who said that as he is a private doctor they can do nothing. He is still doing operations. The private association don\'t want to know as they are covering for him. Surely, now that Cyprus is in Europe, he should be responsible to some authority? What can I do?

What really concerns me is that Cypriot Ministry of Health replied to my letter to them, telling me that they have no responsibilty for private doctors. How can this be? Surely now we are in Europe, every doctor has to be accountable to someone. Patients have rights to be in the hands of someone qualified to do the job they say they can do. I would like the Cypriot government to be made to take responsiblity for this doctor and all doctors, not just the ones that work at the hospitals. Could I take this highter, like to the European Union?

Grateful for any help or suggestions.
