Default A Texas First: Single-Drug Used To Execute Inmate
Texas, which leads the nation in executions, for the first time has used a single drug to carry out a lethal injection, amid a shortage of drugs used in a traditional three-drug cocktail.



The state’s corrections officials on Wednesday executed death row inmate Yokamon Hearn, a 33-year old who was convicted in a 1998 murder. Jason Clark, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, said the execution was “carried out without incident.”
