Obama Campaign Heads to Court over Trademark Infringement
Obama for America, the president’s re-election campaign committee, is heading to court today against a t-shirt website the committee claims is infringing its “O” logo on products.
 www.barackobama.com DemStore CEO Steve Schwat accused the campaign of “selective enforcement,” saying there are many companies selling materials with the same images. “We’re disappointed that the Obama campaign seems to be…penny-wise and pound foolish,” Mr. Schwat told the Blog of Legal Times. Mr. Schwat said his company has sold merchandise boosting Democratic candidates since 1985. “It just seems commercially, politically odd that a campaign is protecting a logo that you’d think the campaign would want to be freely used and reproduced,” Mr. Schwat said to Legal Times.
