Default Judge Apologizes for Long Smoke Breaks, Religious Comment

A Florida judge has agreed to apologize in a public letter for puffing too much on the job, frequent tardiness and making an inappropriate religious comment at a motions hearing.

But the charges against him didn’t stop there.

Judge William “Jack” Singbush of Marion County had also obtained a criminal background check of a Jewish witness on his own initiative. When a lawyer sought a mistrial after the incident, Judge Singbush responded with an inappropriate religious comment referencing Christ, the ABA Journal reported.

“I don’t know of anybody that’s not made a mistake — and except for perhaps one, and for that we murdered him. You know, he was faultless and we murdered him for it. That’s not politically correct but I happen to believe in God… Christ is the intercessor.”

Apology has the ability to disarm others of their anger and to prevent further misunderstandings. While an apology cannot undo harmful past actions, if done sincerely and effectively, it can undo the negative effects of those actions.

At least he said 'we' when he was talking about Christ. It's not like he blamed the Jewish witness.

I also think he should get sanctioned for obtaining a background check--Jewish witness or not.
