A survey of about 5,600 new partners from big firms in the U.S., Canada and London found that most found their jobs to be pretty much just what they expected.
Their anxieties hewed to three areas, according to AmLaw, beginning with clients. Or the lack thereof. They don’t have access to megaclients, and they have to compete with the other partners. The new partners also griped about their firms clinging to billable-hour arrangements, and many cited issues with succession planning — as in, senior partners won’t let go of their clients. More... |
